Snow Day

I want a SNOW DAY!  An honest to goodness snow day.  I have to admit that I am v-e-r-y lucky.  I have the ability and the technology to do my job from the comfort of my couch clad in my pj's if I need to (or sometimes just because I want to).  I love the fact that I don't have to risk life and limb or get up before dawn to skate my way into the office.  I'm also very lucky that after 20+ years, I have a boat load of vacation time that I can use.


But I really just want a snow day. You know - one of those days where you wake up thinking you have to go into work and mentally clicking off all the things that need to be done.  But then you see 6 little letters that totally make your day - CLOSED! The possibilities are endless - go back to bed, go outside and play, go search for cheesy movies or a good book with a warm blanket.  It's not going to happen - but I can dream that one day, I will get my wish.


For now, I will just take advantage of my pj-wearing, comfy chair home office tomorrow if we get all of the snow they are promising!

Mindless fun

How do you keep a puppy entertained for hours?  Toss snowballs into the yard and watch 'em try to figure out where they went!  Yeah, I know it's kind of cruel, but it's highly entertaining and definitely passes the time.
