Grammy Your Mammies

I wish I thought of that title on my own, but I have to admit that I copied.  The other day a friend of mine sent me a message with that tag line in it.  You see there is a group of quilters in South Carolina who created these amazing quilts to raise awareness for Breast Cancer.  They are all amazing but I bet you can't guess which one is my favorite!

This is one quilting project that I could tackle and have fun with!

How Big?

I love my puppy, I really do, but some days I wonder what we have gotten ourselves into. He is a thief. He is a back-talker. And he is eating us out of house and home.

I wonder how much bigger this dog can get. The Cowboy Vet swears he is close to his full adult weight and we need to start cutting back on his food. I'm not sure we will survive the cut backs but we will do our best. But look at those paws! I'm not sure we are anywhere close to being done yet!

Happy VD

I know I should have scolded him, but I couldn't help myself.  Coal was too cute!  I guess both Coal and I are both in love with StarGazer lillies!  Mr. Monkeygirl is in trouble now.

I hope everyone has a chance to give someone they love a hug and a kiss today - whether they have two legs or four!  Love ya'll!

Doh!

I'm sitting here listening to rain pitter-patter on the roof and I suddenly had a moment of clarity...my raincoat is hanging on the back of the door.  In my office. Eighteen miles from home and a very long, very wet walk across the parking lot in the morning.

Probably will still be raining in the morning.  Probably won't get out of bed early enough to get to work while there are still parking spots in our area code either. Looks like I will be in need of a blow dryer and a change of clothes by the time I roll into the office.  Doh!

I'm so Loved!!!

The monkeys have been missing from my blog for awhile.  It is completely my fault. They keep asking for a photo shoot but I can't seem to get my act together to get it done.  But today, I made a special point to make time for a special sitting.

You see, two of my favorite people brought me an early Valentine's Day present!  I was working in my office when a monkey appeared on my left shoulder.  He is so cute and so soft!  I sat with him in my lap while I slaved away at the PC this morning and he definitely made my Monday morning so much better!

Thanks SoccerMonkey and my BFF - I needed some lovin' this morning!

Coal Here....

Hey, it's Coal!  I haven't been able to steal Mommy's computer in a while but she is kind of busy tonight so I'm sneaking in a post while she ain't payin' attention.

I'm not sure what I did but Mommy and Daddy apparently took some toys away from me.  I haven't figured out which ones are missing but they keep talking about my balls being gone.  I thought I hid them under the curtains where they never think to look for them, but they keep insisting that they are gone.  One of these days I'm gonna have to look for them to see if my balls are really gone.

Maybe the took them away when they took me to visit that really nice guy.  Mommy took me for a ride yesterday morning.  I love riding in the car so I was really happy to get out instead of waiting for Skaterboy to come home from school.  I love the place she took me because there are all kinds of doggies and kitties there for me to sniff!  This guy took me from Mommy and then things kind of get fuzzy.  I don't remember alot of what happened next.  I do remember talking a really long nap.

This morning I woke up in a strange place.  I could hear people talking and knew there were others doggies around so I kept trying to get their attention.  I don't know why no one paid attention to me but I kept trying to get their attention by getting louder and louder.  Finally, a really nice lady must have heard me because she came to get me and guess who I saw- Daddy!  I was really happy to see him.

Daddy must have felt bad about leaving me behind because he took me for a ride!  We went to the place where I first met Mommy and Daddy and then we went for a really long walk in this place with alot of grass.  When we got home, he took me for another walk by our house.  When Mommy got home, I was happy to see her, but I was really tired.

Later, these little people came over to visit.  I like them because I can lick their faces without having to jump or anything!  Plus, they carry people food really low and I can steal it from them.  These little people have these real cool doggie beds that are full of air.  They are a real comfy place to chew on a boney or just take a nap.  But they would let me sleep on them so I had to find another place to lay down.

Well, I have had a rough day or two and I'm really tired so I think I'm gonna crash on the couch for awhile!  I gotta remember to go look for those balls in the morning. See ya!

Ouch!

I feel like I got run over by a bus today. Of course, all of my pain is self inflicted so you don't have to feel too sorry for me.

Despite the frigid temps, I have a sun burn. In an effort not to turn into a lobster on my first day of vacation, Mr. M and I have been frequenting the local tanning salon. There are parts of my body that are burnt that have never seen the light of day. To make matters worse, I worked out last night and so I have sore achy muscles to top everything else off.

So if you find me in a heap in the corner today, you will know why I can no longer move!

All about me

In order to keep my promise to take and post a self-portrait at least once a month, I had to act quickly yesterday.  Since Mr. Monkeygirl loves me and bought me some cool camera equipment for Christmas, I decided to put it to good use. I dug the tripod out from under the bed and located my remote trigger (one of the coolest presents ever!)  I found a spot with some decent natural light and started playing around with the camera.  It took a while to figure out the tricks of positioning the camera, how to get the remote to work, how to not look completely stupid in the photo, etc.

So here is an edited version of my results.  Mr. M also bought me the coolest editing software and I needed to learn how to use it before he clobbers me.  I'm starting to get the hang of it and thought this was kind of fun.  I promised a photo, no one said it had to be realistic!
